Ireland is best known for its magnificent links courses such as Ballybunion & Waterville In County Kerry, & Lahinch in County Clare - and possesses almost 40% of the world’s genuine links. Some courses have been around for a hundred years, while others are modern developments created to fit the landscape from which they are carved such as Mount Juliet and the K Club. Some are internationally renowned, while others – the ‘hidden gems’ - are waiting to be discovered.
There are several distinct golfing regions in Ireland & Northern Ireland. Every one of them with majestic sea swept links waiting to be enjoyed.

DAY 2 GOLF AT BALLYBUNION CASHEN
The Cashen course at Ballybunion was designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1984 on “the finest piece of linksland in the world”. Although sometimes overshadowed by the Old Course, the Cashen course is a world-class course and if located elsewhere would be regarded as a masterpiece. Narrow fairways, small greens and large dunes characterize the course.
DAY 3 GOLF AT WATERVILLE
Situated on the tip of the Iveragh Peninsula that makes up the Ring of Kerry, Waterville lies along the shores of Ballinskellig Bay. Golf has been played here since the 1870s when the Marconi engineers were laying the great transatlantic telegraph cables and found an almost natural golf course among the sand dunes. The recent Tom Fazio “makeover” has made this finer links even more attractive.
Day 4 GOLF AT BALLYBUNION
Ballybunion is a small seaside resort on the southern shore of the Shannon estuary facing the Atlantic; it has two courses, the Old dating from 1893 and the Cashen opened in 1984. The celebrated golf writer, Herbert Warren Wind played Ballybunion in 1968 and reported in the New Yorker that the course “revealed itself to be nothing less than the finest seaside course I have ever seen”. A favorite of Tom Watson, he declared the Old “the best in the world”. The Old is always rated among the top 20 courses in the world by all golf rankings.
DAY 5 - GOLF AT OLD HEAD
The Old Head, jutting into the Atlantic, the course rises hundreds of feet above high dramatic cliffs. Surrounded by the ocean on all sides, it commands the most spectacular views. The course is configured as two returning loops with nine holes along the cliff tops, providing an exhilarating test of golf for players of all standards.
